As the Art Director of Life Behind Bars™, you will lead the creative team in conceptualizing and executing innovative and effective design solutions that support the company's brand and marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for managing the creative process from start to finish, and ensuring that all projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and design needs, and provide strategic guidance on creative direction
• Manage all aspects of the creative process, including concept development, design, production, and delivery
• Ensure that all design work is aligned with the company's brand guidelines and visual identity standards
• Supervise and mentor the creative team, providing guidance, feedback, and support as needed
• Generating clear ideas and concepts in tandem with the copywriter
• Understanding marketing initiatives, strategic positioning and target audience
• Cooperate with the rest of the creative team across different types of media
• Manage relationships with external vendors, including design agencies and freelancers
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, and apply new design approaches and techniques as appropriate
• Manage project timelines and budgets, and communicate project status to stakeholders
Required Skills and Qualification
• Proven working experience as Art Director
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
• Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills
• Incorporate feedback and take/give direction well
• Team player with strong communication and presentation skills
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and other design software
• Relevant education or training
Preferred skills and qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in creative leadership roles, with a focus on marketing and branding
• Experience managing budgets and working with external vendors
• Familiarity with the world of cycling or carry, (or both)
