Copywriter - Life Behind Bars





At Life Behind Bars™, we believe remarkable talent, enthusiasm, and creative thinking add up to great work. We’re looking for a wordsmith with excellent writing and research skills to be our full-time, in-house copywriter. As a member of the creative team, the copywriter will write and edit content for a variety of projects (including print, web, newsletter, video, and social media), working closely with the creative and marketing teams to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and articulate messaging. Thorough research and interviews are required for every projects, products, services, branding, and marketing. You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and target audiences, and develop compelling copy that resonates with readers.



Key Responsibilities 
• Write clear, concise, and engaging copy for a variety of marketing and communication materials, including print and digital ads, website content, email campaigns, social media posts, and more.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, creative, and product teams, to develop copy that aligns with business objectives and target audiences.
Research and understand target audiences, competition, and industry trends, and incorporate this knowledge into copy development.
• Edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency with brand voice and style guidelines.
• Adapt copy to different media and formats, ensuring that it is optimized for maximum impact and engagement.
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of brand positioning, voice, and messaging, and ensure that all copy aligns with these standards.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and communication style trends, and apply new approaches and techniques as appropriate.

Required Skills and Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in copywriting or related field, with a focus on marketing and advertising.
• Strong writing skills (English), with the ability to craft engaging and persuasive copy that resonates with target audiences.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage and work with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Strong understanding of brand voice, messaging, and positioning, and the ability to develop copy that aligns with these standards.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and the ability to optimize copy for search engines.
• A portfolio of relevant copywriting work that demonstrates creativity, innovation, and a strong understanding of copywriting principles.

Preferred skills and qualifications: 
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field.
• Great storytelling ability
• Near-native level of fluency in English
• Familiarity with the world of cycling or carry, (or both)
